We arrived in Calais on the ferry a couple of hours earlier than planned.Our gite was not available till 1 pm so we decided to head for Boulogne which is only about 6 miles from where we were staying. We reached Boulogne at 8 am on a damp Saturday morning.We had never visited the market before so as most of the town was shut we headed for Places Dalton. We managed to park in a street near the market there are car parks nearby as well.

The market is held on Wednesday and Saturday morning. There are lots of stalls selling fresh fruit and veg.You can also buy fish and shellfish flowers and non food items. if you get hungry there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants at reasonable prices in the town
