Pont-l`Abbe is a busy little town on the edge of a estuary.We had been visiting Ile Tudy which is in the entrance to the estuary. Pont-l`Abbe is about 3 miles up stream or a 6 mile drive in the car.We visited the town several times during our stay in Brittany as it was near to our rented gite

The main shopping street dose get quite busy we never managed to park there. So we parked down by the river that runs through the town.There are plenty of parking spaces there and you can watch the tide come in.It is only a short walk from there passed the old church to the town centre.

Where you will find a nice mix of shops and cafes plus a Thursday morning market.We found a very expensive gift shop we had seen the same products a lot less.However it was worth going in the shop for the view out of the window to the estuary.My wife found a branch of her favourite French store in the town.It is simular to Ikea and sells new French shabby chic items from crockery to furniture.The shop is called Maison Du Monde they have a store in the Cite Europe shopping centre in Calais
