A Visit To Paris France

The marvelous city of Paris has been dubbed the most romantic city of earth, although there is much more to it than the stereotypical romantic destination. Great entertainment, buzzing nightlife and lots of sights to see.

Despite all the clichés, you cannot go to Paris without taking a look at the most well known icon in France. The Eiffel Tower. Although you can see it from almost anywhere in the city, nothing compares to the view from the top.

Paris is a beautifully built picturesque city and seeing it all from up high is a real treat.

Other sights of interest might include the Arc de Triomphe, built to celebrate Napoleon’s victories. Notre Dame, Paris’ city church, an imposing structure and masterpiece of gothic architecture, which is great for the children that know the story of the hunchback. Musée d'Orsay is a museum housed in an old train station packed full of legendary paintings from Monet, Van Gough and Cézanne. This is just the surface of the sights to be found in Paris.

If you like something a bit livelier from your vacations then Paris offers plenty of entertainment. The legal drinking age is only 16 for beer and wine, but 18 for spirits, which makes the night life great for the younger generation. Popular genres in clubs include house, garage and techno, as well as hip-hop which is growing in popularity every day. Most clubs open an hour or so before midnight and close as late as 6am. If you are looking for something a little more laid back you can visit the renowned Jazz bars such as Le Bilboquet.

Nothing makes a good trip more than food, and France’s reputation for good eating precedes it. Paris is literally full of wonderful cafes, restaurants and specialty shops like Fromagaeries (cheese stores). A typical French meal in a restaurant consists of four courses and wine. It can be quite overwhelming to dine in Paris so a good tourist book will help you get adjusted to the cuisine.

Paris is one of the most well equipped cities for transport in the world. The most desired mode of travel is by the city Metro (subway), although there are adequate bus routes and and taxi services. There are also lots of car hire companies that suit the tourist that likes to be in control.

If you are looking for some great sites, entertaining nightlife and good then a visit to Paris should be high on your list.
