Beynac photos and guide
Places to visit in the village of Beynac![]() The castle is open to the public at most times it cost 7 euros to go in October 2006. The view from the top down the Dordogne valley is worth the money on its own. The castle was once captured by Richard the Lion heart King of England. During the 100 year war the ownership changed hands between the French and English.Places to eat in the village and Map of the area
Beynac street![]() This area seems to have a castle or chateau around every corner. All along the river valley you will find villages built right up to the cliffs. There are plenty of places to stay in the area we stayed in a Gite in the nearby town of Bergerac. This Gite in the village of Daglan looked very nice
This stone house with exposed beams offers charm and comfort and is located in the most sought after area of the Dordogne. Sarlat, the Chateaux of Beynac and Castelnaud, the Bastide of Domme and Roque Gageac with river beaches are all within 20km. The main garden area to the front of the house has a lawned area which contains a covered area ideal for eating outdoors. Hotel in BeynacHotel du Chateau Beynac et Cazenac
