Boulogne sur Mer is a cross channel ferry port about 20 miles from Calais the main ferry port in Northern France

We stay near to Boulogne twice a year in Marquise about 6 miles away. We shop in the out of town shopping centre and we have been to the Saturday Market in Place Dalton.We have visited the Nausicaa sealife centre which is right on the beach.We have never walked round the old town till now.

You can drive around the narrow streets but we prefer to use the car park just outside the walls near the Citadel. You can see the entrance in the first photo. The area has a good selection of shops and cafe/bars we found several nice gift shops. Places to eat information on restaurants in the Port
