Cannes is in the Côte d'Azur region of France about 15 miles from Nice. If you drive to any of the towns on the French Riviera. In the summer you will find them blocked with traffic. The coast roads are narrow and twisty and get jammed with traffic in the summer. When you get to Cannes you are better parking the car in one of the many car parks. We found one near to the port and the old part of town.

If you keep walking up the hill you will come to The 12th-century Tour de Mt. Chevalier ramparts

Where you get a good view of the port and bay.

The short boat trip to the islands of Ste-Marguerite and St-Honorat is worth doing

If you are looking more upmarket then Cannes has lots of top of the range jewellery shops and haute-couture clothing shops.

Also art galleries and antique shops.

We enjoyed just walking down the Croisette the promenade you can see in the photo.

Cannes has plenty of hotels from small B/Bs up to 5 star hotels you can see the most popular here.
