Carnac Stones photos and travel guide of our visit to see the ancient standing stones in Brittany. The stones are just outside of Carnac in the village of Le Menec about a mile away The Carnac Stones sightseeing train
Carnac Stones are spread over a large area around the village of Carnac .The best way to see them first in to head to Le Menec a village of a few houses.There is a tourist road train there which takes you all round the main sites.The trip takes just short of an hour and cost us 6 euros each.We would not have found some of the sites if we had not taken the train ride.We then took the car to the more interesting sites. In Carnac there is a very good Musee de Prehistoire where you can learn all about the stones. The tourist office have some good free guides to the stones. The most impressive of the stones in my opinion were in a field about half a mile long by 100 metres wide with 11 rows of stones in a straight line After you have visited the stones if you are feeling hungry head back to Carnac.
