Places to see in Cayeux sur MerCayeux sur Mer was the next place we visited on our
Trip round the Somme estuary. We visited the town in the first week of June
so the resort was very quite. The summer season starts at the end of June and
the resort gets busy. It is also busy at the weekends.
The resort has a great beach which stretches as far as you can see. A feature of the beach is the wood boardwalk which is the largest in Europe. On the board walk there are several hundred new beach huts. You can see them in the photos The town is on the route of the narrow gauge train that takes you round
the Somme estuary if you do not want to drive here.
