Ingredients


Salade au fromage

Cheese salad recipe

100g / 4ozs white grapes halved and seeded

100g / 4ozs gruyere cheese diced

50g / 2ozs walnuts roughly chopped

175g / 6ozs white cabbage finely shredded

4 small tomatoes quartered

1 bunch of water cress

150ml / 1/4 pint of mayonnaise recipe here


Mix the grapes, cheese, walnuts, cabbage and the tomatoes together with the mayonnaise in a large bowl.

Garnish with watercress the mayonnaise recipe is on the link.

For a more colourful salad add black grapes instead of white ones

Celery and apple salad recipe

1 head of white celery

well trimmed and cut into fine strips

2 small sweet apples peeled, cored, cut into fine strips

1 cold cooked potato, cut into fine strips

1 small cooked beetroot cut into fine strips

3 to 4 tablespoons of walnut oil

2 small lemons juice strained

1 hard boiled egg yolk finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon of chopped chervil

salt and pepper


Arrange the celery, apple, potato, and beetroot in a salad bowl.

Serve with a dressing made of walnut oil, lemon juice egg yolk, chervil and season with salt and pepper.
