Cite Europe is a large shopping centre 3 to 4 miles from the centre of Calais get on the A16. You will see the shopping centre on your left the exit is well signed posted

There is a very large car park and petrol station.

It is a good place to go if its raining or cold you can spend the day in the centre

The shopping Centre

Inside there is a very large Carrefour hypermarket and the usual gift shops and stalls.

Tesco used to have a store here selling beer and wine it is now closed.The value of the Pound as fallen against the Euro plus high fuel cost. So the price difference between the UK and France as got a lot closer

Two years ago when we first visited the centre you had a job to get on to the car park.

Most of the cars would be from the Uk. If you look at the photos taken at 11am on a Thursday morning you can see a big difference.

I think the reason is if you come by car even for the day. You can save a lot of money by travelling a few miles inland and shopping where the locals go.

There are plenty of Hotels to stay at in Calais if you want to stay longer. A selection of restaurants in Calais
