Places to visit in Paris

On any trip to Paris you will need to plan in advance to get the best out of your visit. If you want to shop, wander around the old buildings. Or just enjoy the attractions and landmarks, Paris has something for everyone. A good way to see the city is by boat there are several trips you can go on. The evening trip with dinner is good value.

Paris can be quite expensive but you can still visit some of the sights for free.

Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Chateau de Vincennes and Victor Hugo's House.

Notre-Dame is one of the best Gothic cathedrals in Europe

It is best to get there early it gets very crowded.

The store is not expensive and is full of interesting goods.

The Palace at Versailles is a must see well worth the trip out of Paris

It is France`s most popular tourist attraction.

It was a modest country house in the woodlands outside of the city.

King Louis V1X transformed it into a grand chateau.

We visited in June it was busy then so I would not want to go in August

We visit Paris every couple of years and stay in a hotel as near to the centre as we can afford.So this year we decided to have a change and stay in an apartment.The cost is about the same there is no cheap accommodation in Paris.Unless you stay on the outskirts but then you have travelling cost so you are no better off.What we liked liked about the apartment was the feeling you were a resident of Paris if only for a short while.We lived like a local shopped in the local markets even if it was only for 5 days.The hotels are fine but you are just a tourist.
