Etaples is a small fishing port a few miles from the seaside town of Le Touquet. It is a working fishing port on the river Canche. You can buy fresh fish from the boats. Or the fish market on a Tuesday and Friday.

The town has several nice restaurants if you want to eat out. The sea life centre is good on Boulevard Bigot Descelers 62630 it is about half a mlie from the town centre

You can go on boat trips in the estuary or see the reserve naturelle de la Baie de la Canche with over 420 plant species.

The town was a training camp in WW1 and has the largest War Commission cemetery in France. The Military Cemetery is to the north of the town, it has over 11,000 graves.
