Fecamp Normandy. The port of Fecamp has been a working fishing port for hundreds of years. It still has a busy commercial feel to it. The harbour has a mixture of fishing boats and private yachts.

We visited Fecamp on our way to Etretat. We were staying in the small village of Le Brevedent about 50 miles away. Our first impression on entering the town was that it was a busy working town with not much to interest us in.

However when you reach the harbour and can see the white cliffs and beach. The town looks much better you can park on the side of the harbour. Or as we did right next to the beach there is a long promenade. There was plenty of seating areas overlooking the white pebbled beach. We had a picnic there watching the sea come in.The beach is between two large white cliffs.

Places to eat in the town some of the most popular restaurants. Just outside the town is the Benedictine Palace at 110 rue Alexandre le Grand 76400 a museum and distillery.You can purchase the Benedictine liqueur.

In the photo you can just see where the sea as worn away the cliff. That is our next port of call Etretat
