Fougeres in Brittany is an old town with the largest medieval Castle in France.We saw a sign for the town while visiting Saint Hilaire du Harcouet in Normandy which was only 17 miles away a 30 mins drive.

The town is on two levels the highest part is the most modern.With a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.A guide to the mosr popular restaurants in town. In the middle you have the castle and the old part of the town.Then you have the lowest part of the town with old houses and narrow street outside the castle walls. This was our favourite part Of the town.

The castle is well worth a visit the view from the walls over the town is stunning.We did not have enough time to see all the castle you need a full day to do it justice
