Built on the river Cher, where the unique image of its architecture reflects in the water, the Château de Chenonceau is just a few miles from the town of Tours.

The Château de Chenonceau bridges the whole width of the river Cher you can hire a boat to ride down the river in summer.

The formal garden and the park surrounding it add to the charm of the castle.

Inside visitors can see the large gallery, Louis XIV’s sitting room and Francois I’s bedroom.

Chenonceau is not only remarkable for its architecture and history but also for the fine quality of its Renaissance furniture, a large collection of XVI th and XVII th centuries tapestries and paintings by Le Primatice, Rubens, Le Tintoret, Rigaud, Nattier, Van Loo.

Opening time: Daily 9am to 7pm (mid-March to mid-September).

Closing times vary during other months from 4.30pm to 6pm;
