Places to visit in Hesdin

The historical little town of Hesdin is in the Seven Valleys region of Pas-de-Calais.

Hesdin Town Hall's belfry and ornate balcony look over the main square. You can park in the square every day but Thursday. Which is a very busy market day the stalls set up in the square and the nearby streets.Places to eat in the town a few of the local restaurants.

Notre Dame church

Just off the square on a cobbled street is the 16th century Church of Notre-Dame, by the River Canche. You can see the church in the photo above

Hesdin makes a good centre for touring the area we have just spent a week there.

Among the places we visited were Azincourt the battlefield and village about 10 miles.

Crecy small town and another famous battle similar distance.

The towns of the Somme with WW1 interest 50 miles.

Cities like Lille 60 miles and seaside towns 30 miles Berck and Le Touquet. Paris is about 150 miles
