Located in a quiet hamlet above the River Vienne, I can imagine the sun setting over the pool and feeling this place has all the hallmarks of somewhere you would want to come home to roost in.
Recently renovated to a good standard you can enjoy the modern comforts inside with all the property has to offer outside.
You can enter the house either directly into the lounge or via a side door into the kitchen. The lounge has a attractive flagstone floor and original fireplace containing a wood burning stove.
The kitchen has light coloured fitted units, plenty of space for a formal dining table and french doors that step out into the garden and overlooks the pool area. Also on the ground floor is a utility area that leads on into a downstairs WC and shower room with red terracotta tiles.
Upstairs from the lounge the attic has recently been sympathetically converted into three double bedrooms and one spacious bathroom. The exposed roof beams are delightful and there are views out of all the bedroom windows.
The property has plenty of outbuildings including a large stone barn with workshop space built in. There are some smaller single storey sheds set around the front courtyard, useful for keeping your firewood dry.
The land surrounds the house and includes some established trees but is mostly parcels of land. One has been recently purchased and is large enough for grazing animals with a handy stable adjoining. There is also a parcel of woodland a short drive away.
The heated pool is surrounded by a tiled patio area and is fenced (to comply with the law) and succeeds in being both private but having open views over nearby countryside. The current owners have run a successful holiday rental business and if you were not looking for a permanent home this property could generate a useful income for you in summer months.
The hamlet lies a few kilometres outside the picturesque village of Queaux on the banks of the river Vienne. Queaux has a restaurant and access to a number of water sports. The river side towns of Lussac-les Chateaux and L Isle Jourdain are 15 mintues drive away. Poitiers is the nearest airport at under an hour away.
