La Coupole WWll rocket baseWWll rocket base our visit to this interesting places photos and guideLa Coupole was a WWll German V2 rocket base. The base is about 4 miles outside St Omer and a 45 mins drive from the coast at Calais. The base is cut into a wooded hill the only bit that you can see is the dome. Which sticks out of the top of the hill and is 5 metres thick. There is a large car park with picnic tables just outside the entrance. Inside is a cafe and book shop the site is open most of the year except Christmas.

![]() The museum supply you with an audio headset in most languages it is triggered when you reach points of interest. The tour is a mixture of exhibits and audio visual displays, showing the history of the site. The slave labour that built the place and the rockets which were made there.
