Our visit to the resort of Monte Carlo in Monaco

Monaco isn’t part of France, but is located in the middle of the Cote d’Azur.

Nice is only nine miles away, and Italy is about five miles.

Monaco is made up of several hills and a peninsula that juts out into the Mediterranean.

It is less than one square mile, but has some of the most expensive property in the world. The largest yachts in the world can be seen in the harbour.

A Hotel complex is right on the edge of the Mediterranean.

It overlooks the Grand Prix Racecourse. Occupying a prime location directly below the famous Monte Carlo casino, the Fairmont Monte Carlo opened in 1975 and became a Fairmont property in March 2005.

Monaco is a tax haven the government gets its money from tourism and commercial transactions.

French is the spoken language. Monte Carlo, with its famous casino is the capital of Monaco.

Its as a mild climate which makes it a good all year round place to holiday.

The area has nice beaches with good sports facilities. Monaco is famous for the formula 1 Grand Prix race, as well as the Monte Carlo Rally.

Unless you are very rich you are better staying just outside of Monaco where you can get cheaper hotels.

There are several five star restaurants and the usual designer shops it depends on your budget.Popular restaurants in the town address and guide.The Oceanographic Museum on Avenue Saint-Martin 98000 about half a mile from the centre is well worth a visit. Le Petit Jardin Exotique is an impressive garden built on a cliff side with great views.

The most popular casino and night spot is the Place du Casino, around which most of the social life revolves. The short video shows the casino.
