Plus a large variety of shops and cafes. Most of the large designer names can be found around rue Crébillon. The nearby Passage Pommeraye is a 19th-century shopping arcade on 3 levels and is well a worth a visit.

For a large city Nantes has a lot of very large parks. We spent a day there in Oct 2006 we had been touring in the Brittany area. You can park just outside the pedestrian area and the centre is an easy walk. There is a fast train service from Paris the TGV takes about 2 hours.
