Places to visit in the hill town of RoussillonRoussillon is a very attractive hilltop town in the Provence region of France. The village can be seen at its best at sunset. The colours from the ochre cliffs that the town is built on glow in the sun.You can take a walk with a guide to see the cliffs.We did the 30 minute walk it was a warm day you could do a longer walk. The colour ranges from yellow orange to reddish brown.
Roussillon  The town is famous for its dyes which were used all over the world. The restored houses of the town show the full range of ochre shades. From apricot to burgundy to gold, mustard, russet and brown. In the centre of the town is a small village square. The square has some nice cafes where you can sit outside overlooked by the old clock tower. The clock tower was formerly a watch tower.
The hilltop town  From the square you can walk up the narrow winding streets and stairways to the old church. The church offers a great place to see the mountains and the hill villages in the Vancluse area.
