Saint-Brieuc
Our visit to the town of Saint-Brieuc in the Côtes d'Armor department. It is located in the historic province of Brittany and is the capital of the department. The town has a rich history that dates back to the 6th century. It is about 56 miles from the port of Saint Malo just over an hours drive away.
We had planned to stop in the town of Saint-Brieuc for breakfast and have a walk round.Before completing our journey to the port of Roscoff where we were staying for a few days
However because of the weather heavy rain we had to settle for a drive round this busy town.We managed to get parked near the centre to take a few photos and find a cafe with WiFi.We spent most of our visit enjoying a coffee and croissant looking out of the window at the rain and checking our emails.
On a better day it is worth following the river towards the coast.To see the yachts next to the river bank.There is a large car park next to the river under the spectacular bridge which takes the motorway across the valley. On a better day it would be a nice walk along the river bank looking at the boats.

The centre of town
The town is home to a number of historic monuments, including the 13th century Saint-Brieuc Cathedral, the 14th century Church of Saint-Sauveur, and the 16th century Château de la Roche-Jagu. There are also several museums in the area, such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Musée de la Pêche et de la Mer, and the Musée des Traditions Populaires.
The nearby town of Tréguier is a popular tourist destination, home to the 12th century Cathedral of Saint-Tugdual, as well as the Musée des Beaux-Arts. The beaches of the Côte de Granit Rose, a spectacular stretch of coastline, are also nearby.
Other popular attractions include the medieval walled town of Dinan, the scenic villages of Paimpol and Perros-Guirec, and the nearby forests of Ploumanac'h.
