Steam Train This narrow gauge steam train is located in the hamlet of Froissy in the Somme region.

We got on at Saint Valery sur Somme. This steam train excursion runs from Le Crotoy to Cayeux sur Mer.

It takes round the Bay of the Somme where you will pass through some of the prettiest villages in France.

The railway line was built in 1916 to supply the front lines in Somme in WW1. As well as the trips on the train there is a museum.

You can see a collection of narrow gauge steam and diesel engines used during WW1 and some WW2. I would recomend this trip which in June 2008 cost 9 euros including the museum There are also special events during the year.

In the middle of the bay there is a nature reserve at Le Parc du Marquenterre.This is well worth a visit if you are in the area.There are several marked walks of varying distances. Also 14 observation point to watch the birds.
