Wimereux

It is halfway between Calais and Boulogne.

The river wimereux flows through it to the sea. The town has a nice sandy beach between the sea breakwaters.

The town has good parking both street and a centre car park.

You can walk down the promenade and watch the sea or go onto the beach.

There are several cafes on the front and gift shops. Also there are some tastefully restored beach huts and apartments. If you get hungry walking around the town here are some of the restaurants in town. It also gives you a guide to prices.

If you turn off the promenade you can walk through the narrow streets.

With the brightly painted Anglo- Norman style seaside villas and houses.

You will then come to the main street which you can see in the photo.

The street contains a wide selection of shops and restaurants to browse. There is a local market on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Golf de Wimereux

This is the perfect course to start or end your golf break. There aren’t many other true links courses in France.

We have stayed at several Gites over the years along this coast and have enjoyed them all

On the edge of the village with fine country views and walks from the door. 46 kms from Calais, 12 kms from the very popular resort of Hardelot Plage and 17 kms from Wimereux.

Tennis 2 kms, horse-riding 4 kms, shops 5 kms, swimming pool and sailing 12 kms.
