Places to visit and stay in the seaside resort of Le Touquet
The sea front is a mix of seaside villas and high rise luxury apartments
Le Touquet is on the north coast of France. The area is known as the Cote d` Opal coast.
After local artists who painted using the colours of the opal stone.
Driving into the town you pass through wooded areas with golf and other sporting activities.
Upmarket houses weekend retreats and a casino.
The parking in the town is good you only pay at the weekend.

Le Touquet traffic free shopping streets the photos were taken midweek at the French lunch time when everybody vanishes for 2 hours. A few of the places to eat in the town

The town has one of the best beaches in France long flat and clean.
It as all the usual beach activities sand yachting kites etc.Aqualud a water land adventure park is a fun day out for all the family on Boulevard de la Mer. Rue St Jean and the streets running off are the main shopping area.
When you are walking round the town centre.You need to watch for traffic has some of the streets appear to be pedestrian only.
Like the one in the photo below you can get caught out.When looking at the shops and find you are in the middle of the road.Also driving in this area is tricky. It is a grid layout with lots of crossroads difficult to decide who as right of way

We have stayed in the Le Touquet area several times we like the town and the beach.
We usually stay a few miles out from the town. This year we stayed in the village of Wamin about 20 miles away
