A visit to Aix-en-Provence as a tourist can be a truly unforgettable experience. This vibrant city in the south of France is filled with beautiful architecture, colorful streets, and a unique culture. There is so much to explore and experience in Aix-en-Provence that you may need more than one visit to take in all the sights and sounds.
To start off your trip, why not take a guided walking tour of the city to get acquainted with the main historical sites? You can visit the Cathedral of the Holy Saviour, the Granet Museum, or the Pavillon de Vendome to learn more about the citys rich history. Afterwards, make sure to take a stroll through the Cours Mirabeau and the Mazarin district for a taste of the citys vibrant modern culture.
If youre looking for a bit of relaxation, there are plenty of wonderful parks and gardens to explore in Aix-en-Provence. Take a leisurely walk through the beautiful Parc Jourdan or the Parc du Jas de Bouffan and enjoy the stunning views of rolling hills and lush greenery.

Aix has several museums and galleries it holds a antique market on Tues, Thurs & Sat at Place Verdun.
There is also a farmers market with local produce most days.
The town is also famous for its thermal springs.
It can be difficult to park in the old town. You are best parking in the under ground car parks a 10 min walk from the centre.
When we visited Aix we stayed in a Gite about 10 miles out of the town. It was ideal for visiting the town and the small villages in the area.
It is also great to sit by your own pool with a cold drink after a long day in the hot sun.
There are plenty of Gites in the region to pick from like the one in the photo.

The area enjoys good weather for most of the year which makes it a popular place to live.
Property price are higher in this area about the same as the UK. You can still find cheaper property in the smaller villages.
