One of the best ways to see the Local Attractions of Paris is a boat trip along the Seine.
On the tour boats they all offer a relaxed way to see the bridges and parts of Paris from another view point. On the larger boats you can have lunch or dinner. Tours are given in English and French. Several go as far as the Eiffel Tower and back past Notre Dame to Quai Henri IV. You can join a boat trip from the center of the Pont Neuf. Just walk down to the tip of the island, du Vert Galant.
Another benefit is that it allows you to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Paris is a big city with a lot of sights to see, and sometimes it can be overwhelming to try and see everything on foot. By taking a rip on the River Seine, you can see many of the city's highlights in a matter of hours.
The river flows nearly 800km (480mi) from Dijon through Paris and into the English Channel.
But even the short section through the city provides enough sights to satisfy the most discerning traveller. Once you've completed the boat tour, don't forget about the other attractions.
From the exit it's just a short walk to one of the finest art museums in the world. The Musée d'Orsay and there are several small galleries and shops along the way.
If you want to discover some of the historical sites of Paris while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Seine, then the Île de la Cité is a must-visit. This island is home to the Sainte-Chapelle, which is renowned for its stunning stained glass windows. The Conciergerie, a former prison that held Marie Antoinette, is also located on the island.
For those who want to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Paris, the Latin Quarter is a great spot. This area is famous for its lively cafes, bookshops, and jazz clubs. The Seine flows right through the Latin Quarter, so you can enjoy this vibrant area while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Seine.
In conclusion, discovering Paris through a trip on the river Seine is an unforgettable experience. The river Seine provides the perfect vantage point to discover the beauty of Paris, and there are many spots along the Seine that offer amazing views of the city. Whether you want to discover historical sites, iconic landmarks, or experience the vibrant atmosphere of Paris, there is a spot along the Seine that will cater to your preferences.
