Arras France Pas de CalaisThe old town of Arras photos and guideArras is the capital of the Pas de Calais region. Its two large town squares were destroyed in WW1. They were originally created 800 years ago. The town is very busy but we found it easy to park in one of the squares. There is a lot to see in the centre the flemish style houses and shops. Underneath is a vast network of tunnels. Which were used by the British army in WW1 but date back to the French Revolution. The view from the town hall belfry of the town is just stunning. You can see on a clear day Vimy ridge with the Canadian Monument. Shops in Arras main squsre
