Camping in Normandy
Custom Search
Camping in Normandy is closer to the soul of France than you will ever get in the crowded streets of the South of France. Regarding the camping itself, the prices are amazingly reasonable and the facilities are always very comfortable Blangy le Chateau
Blangy le Chateau in Normandy has a very good camp and caravan site almost in the village.
There is a wide choice of venues in Normandy regular campsites with restrooms and showers, luxury campsites with pools and clubhouses and the ever popular "camping a la ferme" where you will be camping on an actual farm. In most cases, the farmer will be happy to sell you some local produce and the freshest eggs that you have ever eaten. Some places will even let you join the family evening meal for a moderate sum. Not to be missed! When you camp in Normandy, you will discover a countryside that is so densely filled with history that you can bike from village to village and find something unique in every single one. Only time will be lacking. In Normandy, with its rich history of gastronomy, you will feast on apples, and cream, sea food and cider. Food is everywhere. From three star restaurants to tiny little cafes, there is something for every palate and budget. You may chose to cook your own food over a gas stove at your campsite and then you will discover the joys of bountiful markets and the oh-so-tempting epiceries (delicatessens) with their trays of quiches, savories and desserts. Even in Normandy, one cannot eat all day (though we might be tempted to do so). Then, you will head off to the beaches, the ones where children play and adults sunbathe, or the other beaches those that we visit with heavy hearts, our imaginations unable to grasp the full drama of the D-day landings. Or you might pass, on the side of the road, a military cemetery, a hillside of shining crosses in a perfect green field that even now will bring a lump to your throat. No description of a Normandy vacation would be complete without mentioning the markets. Every day throughout the summer, some small town will host a market. There will be produce and local food, competitions of petanque, the French version of Bocce ball, and wine tastings. The village of Blangy le Chateau

Situated at the edge of a peaceful hamlet, and close to the coastal town of Honfleur, this pretty half-colombage detached holiday home has been beautifully restored by its owners. The large garden offers plenty of shade from mature trees and you can see the tip of the Pont de Normandie beyond the church spire. Honfleur (5km) is perhaps the most recognised of Normandy?s coastal towns and has become a mecca for artists from all over the world. with its picturesque cobbled streets and harbour, Holiday cottages to rent in Brittany
