Granville Normandie is a large seaside town in Manche region of Normandy. This is our second trip to the Normandie region we were here in June when we stayed in the Calvados area.It is now the end of September 2009 we are staying 70 miles away from our last visit. We rented a Gite about 10 miles from Granville in Le tanu

We started our visit to Granville by driving to the top of the cliffs. There is a good car park from where you get a great view of the harbour.It is the reason the Germans build the bunkers up here in WWll.The harbour has a marina for over a 1000 berths and there is a fleet of trawlers here.It is a popular place for shellfish the town has stalls and shops selling them everywhere. The town has several museums including the Christian Dior museum Rue d Estoutville

The town has a large number of shops spread round the narrow one way streets in the town centre.There are lots of cafes.There is a large street market on a Saturday The cafe in the photo was just a bit close to a busy mini island taking traffic into the centre. Places to eat in the town prices start from about £10
