Airbourne Museum in Sainte Mere Eglise
The Airbourne Museum is in the middle of Sainte Mere Eglise.Opposite the church with a parachutist hanging from the roof.The car park in front of the church is the best place to park to visit the museum or the village.
When we visited it cost a reasonable € 8 for adults. The museum is open
April & September: 9:30am - 6:30pm
May to August : 9 am - 07 pm
October to March: 10 am - 06 pm closed in December and January expect during Christmas Holidays.
You entre the museum through the bookshop.Where you can purchase WW2 books in several languages.Inside the main building is a full size glider and a Dakota transport plane.Which you can go inside when you see how flimsy the glider is it is hard to believe it could carry so many troops.There is a large selection of wepons and uniforms from the period.Plus the type of documents people had to carry.It took us about 2 hours to see everything we enjoyed our visit.
Places to visit there are several villages nearby Gouberville and Cosqueville and Neville sur Mer

The Operation Neptune display is very good it is set up to give you an idea what it was like to jump out of a plane.They have a WW2 plane which you enter in the dark.One side as a row of Paratroopers you make your way down the other.As you get to the front you can see the anti aircraft fire coming towards the plane.The sound effects and a slight movement of the plane makes it feel real.You then come to an open door on the plane.Where you step out on a glass floor with a minature village under the glass.It gives you the impression you are stepping out of the Plane
