Nantes is a beautiful city located in the Loire region of France. As a tourist, there are plenty of things to do and see in Nantes. Begin your visit with a stroll along the River Loire. Here, youll find plenty of cafés and restaurants, and some of the citys best attractions, such as the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany and the Graslin Theatre.
Continue your tour of Nantes with a visit to the Jardin des Plantes. This botanical garden is home to more than 10,000 species of flora and fauna, and is the perfect spot for a picnic.
Afterwards, explore the citys many museums. Check out the Musée des Beaux-Arts, the Natural History Museum, and the Archaeology Museum. For something a bit more modern, head to the Hangar a Bananes, an art center and cultural hub.

For a large city Nantes has a lot of very large parks. The city has lots of restaurants if you try the set menu you can eat from about £10.

The Machines de l'Ile is a must it is like a theme park and museum for Jules Verne. Try the mechanical grand elephant ride.you can find the museum at Bd Léon Bureau 44200 it is on the bank of the river Loire.
One of the best ways to find out your way round the sites of the city.Is the road train Le Petit Train de Nantes a 40 minute trip from Place Saint-Pierre near the Cathedral.
We spent a day there in Oct we had been touring in the Brittany area.
You can park just outside the pedestrian area and the centre is an easy walk.
There is a fast train service from Paris the TGV takes about 2 hours.
When youre ready to take a break, head to the Place du Commerce. This square is one of the citys most popular spots, and is home to many restaurants and shops. Spend an hour or two browsing the boutiques and admiring the architecture.
Finally, round out your visit with a cruise down the Loire. This is the perfect way to take in the beauty of Nantes and its surroundings. Enjoy the stunning views as you sail past the citys many bridges and monuments.
Whatever you choose to do, youre sure to have an unforgettable experience in the vibrant city of Nantes.
