The Spa town of St Jean d Angely is in the Charente region of France within easy reach of the towns of Saintes and Cognac.

We found it a good base to tour the region it is about 40 miles to the coast La Rochelle etc.

St Jean d Angley is a interesting place with the usual restaurants, shops a gym and aquatic centre.

Just outside the town is a kart track and moto cross there is a international moto cross race in June.

Chize Zoo is about 10 mins away worth a visit if you have children with you. There is a large park with children`s play area the aquatic centre is just by the park worth going to.

The two pictures of the town make it look empty but it was just French dinner time everybody vanishes for 2 hours.

This hotel is located right in the centre of a pedestrian district and the old historic town of Saintes

Situated 25km away from the ocean beach, 1 hour from Bordeaux, Angouleme and La Rochelle.
