The seaside village of Equihen Plage
Equihen Plage is a seaside village with a population of about 3,000. It is on the Cote dOpale between Boulogne and Hardelot Plage
It was originally a fishing village, The first houses were up turned fishing boats. They built a base and used the boat as a roof. Some of these have been restored and are used as viewing points. Others have been turned into holiday homes like the ones in the photo below.
One thing you notice in the village is the number of houses selling fresh mussels in the front garden.

The beach you can walk along for miles just watch out for the tide
Equihen Plage like most of this coast has a long sandy beach. To get to the beach you drive down a narrow twisting road along the cliffs.
At the bottom there is a large car park with a cafe and shop. You can just admire the view or take the slipway down to the beach.

1. Plage d'Equihen: This beautiful beach is a great spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are plenty of activities such as swimming, beach volleyball, and windsurfing.
2. Parc Naturel Régional des Caps et Marais d’Opale: This nature park is a great spot to explore the local wildlife and vegetation.
3. Château de Côte d’Opale: This castle dates back to the 15th century and offers visitors a glimpse into the past.
4. Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste: This beautiful church was built in the 19th century and is a great spot for a peaceful stroll.
5. Fort de Bresle: This 19th century fort is a great place to learn about the history of the area.
