Le Guilvinec is a busy fishing port and market town.The market is held on a Tuesday and Sunday morning in the Summer on the town centre car park. When we arrived it was quite overcast and dull so we had to have a quick look round.The streets behind the car park and took a few photos.

Then it started to rain so it was back to the car for a coffee.The rain did not stop so we decided to move on up the coast and find some better weather.The part of the town we saw had plenty of shops and cafes and we will come back on a better day.In the afternoon the fishing boats land their catches on the dock which would have been worth seeing.

History of the Port:

The port has been in existence since the 12th century, when it was used by the monks of Landévennec Abbey. Over the centuries, the port has become an important fishing port, with a thriving fish market. Today, it is one of the larger fishing ports in France.

Places to See in the Port:

The port is home to a range of attractions, including a fish market, a maritime museum, and a historic fishing boat. There are plenty of shops and restaurants around the port, as well as a range of boat tours and fishing trips.

Nearby Sights:

Le Guilvinec is located near a number of other attractions in the region. You can explore the nearby beaches, or visit the nearby towns of Quimper and Pont-Aven. There are plenty of nearby outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, and sailing.
