The town has a lot of history one of the most notable was at the field of the Cloth of Gold. The meeting between Henry Vlll th and Francois 1 er. You can enjoy this account of the history of Guines at the Chateau Guines open April to October. We paid 9 euros in October which was good value children were 6 euros.
Visitors can wander around the historic centre, with its narrow cobbled streets lined with ancient buildings, or explore the nearby forests, meadows and rivers. For those interested in art and culture, there is the Museum of Fine Arts and the Maison des Arts et des Loisirs to visit, or take a tour of the nearby Château de Guines.
For a taste of local cuisine, there are plenty of restaurants, bistros and cafés to choose from. Guines also has a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. With its picturesque scenery and wealth of attractions, Guines is an ideal destination for an enjoyable holiday.
