The town has one of the best Roman amphitheatres which could seat 24,000 people.
There is a Roman temple La Maison Carees which is now a museum, It has a collection of Roman sculptures the temple was built in the 1st century.
Also a must see is the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct which brought water from the reservoir and distributed it throughout the town.

If you get tired of the old building there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to visit.
There is a farmers market on a Tuesday and in the summer a craft and local products market is held on Thursday night
