The village was a about 2 miles from where we were staying in a Gite. The nearest large town was at Lisieux 7 miles away.Saint Philbert des Champs is a typical Normandy village with its timber framed houses. We enjoyed our stay in the area it was a good central position for our visit to the Calvados region of Normandy. Most of the area is within 50 miles of the village. We were able to see most of the D Day beaches and visit the seaside resorts like Deauville.
