Places to visit and stay in St Jean d`Angely
We found it a good base to tour the region we stayed a in a Gite just outside the town. You must visit La Rochelle it is about 40 miles away.There are several nice seaside towns to visit around La Rochelle.
The Spa town of St Jean d Angely is in the Charente region of France within easy reach of the towns of Saintes and Cognac.
The town has plenty of interesting places with the usual restaurants, shops a gym and aquatic centre.
The town centre
There is a very good street market veg fruit, bread and crafts.
There is an old Abbey and fountain you will find plenty of free parking.
Just outside the town is a kart track and moto cross there is a international moto cross race in June.
Chize Zoo is about 10 mins away worth a visit if you have children with you. There is a large park with children`s play area the aquatic centre is just by the park worth going to.
The two pictures of the town make it look empty but it was just French dinner time everybody vanishes for 2 hours.
