Fressin a village in Northern France

The village of Fressin is in the 7 Vallees area of Pas de Calais.It is about about 4 miles from the village of Azincourt.A 20 minute drive from our rented gite in Wamin

We visited the village fairly early about 9 30am on a Sunay morning so it was fairly empty. The village has a population of around 500 which has remained constant since the 60s.As we walked round we came to a large Gothic church of St.Martin.A board outside said if was built in the 15th century.Next to the church was a large old house that had suffered from a bad fire.You can see it in the photo the flames have destroyed the roof.

We noticed several marked paths in the village for both walkers and cyclists. A bit further up the road you start seeing large walls. Then the impressive remains of the 15th century Feudal castle of Fressin. You can visit the castle and gardens between 10am and 6pm in July and August and weekends the rest of the summer months.There is a tourist office opposite the entrance to the castle

Places to Visit in Fressin and the Surrounding Area:

6. Abbaye de Valloires: This beautiful abbey is located a few miles north of Fressin and is worth a visit to explore its history and stunning architecture.

7. Château de Rambures: This grand castle is located just a few miles to the east of Fressin and is one of the most spectacular examples of French Renaissance architecture.

8. Maison de la Nature: This nature center is located in the nearby town of Doudelainville and is a great place to learn about the flora and fauna of the region.
