St-Emilion is a small hill town about 20 miles from the city of Bordeaux, in the Aquitaine region of France.
If you are planning a first visit to the village of Saint Emilion, there is plenty to explore. Start your visit by exploring the ancient cobbled streets, where you can find beautiful architecture, charming cafes and quaint shops. Take a tour of the underground monolithic church, which dates back to the 12th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the wineries in the area, where you can sample some of the local wines and learn about the history of the winemaking process.
Be sure to explore the surrounding countryside, where you can find stunning views of rolling hills and vineyards. If you're in the mood for a more active adventure, you can go kayaking or rafting on the nearby rivers, or take a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards.
During your visit, be sure to take some time to relax and enjoy the local cuisine. There are numerous restaurants and cafes in the village offering traditional French dishes, as well as plenty of options for wine tasting. After a day of exploring, spend a night at one of the local hotels or bed and breakfasts, where you can find comfortable and affordable accommodation.
