Pleuven
Pleuven is located in the Finistère department of Brittany. It is situated in the middle of the Armorican Massif, an area of ancient granite hills, and is surrounded by the stunning countryside of central Brittany. The village is about 4 miles from the market town of La Foret Fouesant. It is a simular distance to the beach at Cap Coz

Pleuven is a nice village on the D45 road.We had been visiting Pont l`Abbe which is about 10 miles away and drove through Pleuven on our way to Concarneau. We were not in a rush so decided to stop and have a walk round.There was several parking bays in front of the church in the middle of the village. There was 2 or 3 shops near the church.The thing I liked about the village was the floral displays dotted round the streets.

Pleuven has a history that dates back to the Iron Age. The remains of a pre-Roman settlement have been found in the area, including several burial mounds. During the Middle Ages, the village was part of the Duchy of Brittany, and the local lords and barons built a castle here. It was eventually abandoned in the late 17th century.
Today, Pleuven is a picturesque village, with a mix of traditional stone and timber-framed houses. Its main attractions are the ancient church of St. Martin, the ruins of the castle, and the local cemetery, which is said to be the final resting place of the Breton poet, Yann-Ber Kalloc'h.
Nearby attractions include the nearby beach and fishing port of Le Conquet, the beautiful Bay of Brest, and the Montagnes Noires mountain range. Other nearby villages worth visiting include Pleyben, which has a 15th-century chateau, and Saint-Thégonnec, with its traditional stone houses and old churches.
