Blangy le Chateau a must see a nice compact village to walk round with a few shops.We were staying 3 miles away in Le Brevedent. So we visited most days I liked the old houses and the bread shop. There was even a small market on Thursday

Cormeilles large village lots of shops, cafes plus a street market. An interesting place to visit If you like antiques there are lots of Antique shops.There is a famous Calvados distillery in the village, you can visit we stay about 5 miles away in a Gite

Arromanches les Bains Gold Beach Mulberry harbour

Deauville seaside resort one of the larger resort on the Normandy coast.The town has everything a small airport, horse racing, golf and a famous casino.There is a very clean beach with a wooden walkway.Upmarket shopping streets and a large weekly market

Etretat a lively resort with good shops and cafes. The town is famous for its white cliffs and beach. We have visited Etretat twice each time we have found something new to see. You can sit in a beach side cafe with a coffee watching the sea come in. The town is easy to walk round

Fecamp a large seaside resort and a very busy fishing port.Just like Etretat the town has a great beach and is overlooked by large cliffs. You can park right next to the beach and harbour and watch the fishing boats come and go. An interesting place to visit for a day trip

Granville is a lively seaside resort and working shell fishing port. The town has a casino and a Saturday morning market.There are lots of shops cafes and restaurants in the narrow town centre streets. There is a golf course built in 1912. Granville Photo Gallery

Hauteville sur Mer is a small village about a mile form the Normandy coast. Right on the coast is Hauteville sur mer La Plage a holiday and weekend resort with a great beach

Honfleur is a must visit if you are in this area. There is the harbour with its cafes overlooking the boats in the marina. Just behind the harbour is the shops and market.There are lots of Hotels to stay in. Houlgate is a small seaside town a few miles down the coast from Honfleur.We liked the beach with its long walk ways you could park near the beach. The shops were right behind the beach mainly in one main street.There was the usual mix of cafes,bars and tourist shops.The town also has a casino

Jullouville is a great little seaside town in the Manche region of Normandy. Just down the coast from Granville. A good mix of shops and cafes plus a good clean beach

Langrune sur Mer Juno beach a pleasent seaside town like Lion sur Mer and Luc sur Mer. All were part of the D Day beaches

Port en Bessin Huppain a small fishing port on the Normandy coast. A busy tourist spot now but during WWll was part of the D Day landings at Omaha beach. A pleasent day trip just watching the boats come and go

Touques Has a nice old town centre and is just down the road from Deauville

Trouville sur Mer is a large seaside resort next door to Deauville. The two towns are very simular both have a casino a nice beach. Good shopping areas and town centre parking.The road train is a good way to see the town. We enjoyed our visit to both towns and would go back again

Villers sur Mer and Villerville are small seaside resort.Yport is a small fishing port in a cove between high cliffs

Local attraction

Alligator bay is a short distance from Mont Saint Michel.A large interesting collection of reptiles well worth a visit if you are in the area. Takes about half a day to see everything was 11 euros for adults in Oct 2009

Cerza Zoo is a large open plan zoo you need a day to see it all. The zoo has a wide selection of well keep animals and good picnic areas. There is a road train to take you round if you get tried which is included in the entrance fee. Very busy at the weekends.Also worth a trip the smaller Champrepus Zoo

Chateau du Breuil The Chateau was built in the 16th and 17th century.It has been restored by its owners.
